I'm a big fan of Nivea. I really rate their moisturisers and face washes. I love the fresh smell and the quality of their products and I think they tend to be great value for money. I saw this BB cream in Tesco for £2.99 reduced down from £5.99 (it would have been rude not to buy it!) and with the 'new lighter shade' advertised on the front, I thought I must be onto a winner!
Nivea's BB cream is enriched with minerals, provitamin B5 and a hint of colour. The product promises to even out skin tone, refine the appearance of pores and boost the skin's natural glow. It also protects the skin against the sun and premature aging.
When I first used the product I was very surprised about the colour of the formula. It was a lot darker than I thought it would be and for it to say 'new lighter shade' on the front, I just wondered how dark the formula originally was! That being said, when I applied the product onto my face it's actually not too dark and is wearable.
The formula is smooth and has that lovely fresh smell. A little goes a long way and what I really like is that it doesn't cling onto dry areas. It provides a good base to apply other make-up to and leaves a matte finish. I find the texture is a little heavier than my favourite Maybelline BB cream but sometimes this is nice when you feel you're skin is looking tired and you need a little extra war paint. It doesn't clog up pores and does help to even skin tone.
The reason I wouldn't buy this again is because the shade isn't perfect for me and I like my BB creams to have a light texture. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying this is you've got a light skin tone.
Thanks for reading!
