John Frieda Frizz Curl Around Style

I tend to always straighten my hair and rarely have the energy to curl it - it takes agggessss and then never lasts the whole day. I've not really tried hair curling products before, but when given the opportunity (by BzzAgent) to try some from the John Frieda range I thought I'd give it a go and see if they would work as a styling agent, at the very least.

These products are meant to enhance your curls and keep them frizz free! I got both a shampoo and conditioner, as well as a heat defense spray which all aim to do the same thing. My hair is normally straight, with a slight wavyness to it. It's very thick too, which is why it takes so long to curl it all.

My first opinion of the products were good. Nice packaging (the soft plastic means it's easier to get all the product out) and they have a great smell. When using the shampoo to begin with, I wasn't so sure on the amount of bubbles it created - I like my shampoo to create lots and lots of bubbles! But actually, if you give it a bit extra water it bubbles up quite well.

I did notice when my hair was wet it had a bit more curl to it than normal. After drying it however, it went back to normal straight hair. My main interest was to see if it would help with keeping the curls throughout the day and to my surprise I think it actually helped - even when I put my hair up in a pony tail, the curls were still there when I took it down again. I didn't even have to use hair spray, which is fantastic, as that can ruin the look and feel of curls sometimes. It didn't save on time it took to curl my hair but I wasn't really expecting that.

I do feel that this is not an everyday shampoo and conditioner - as it is quite heavy and can make your hair feel quite flat the next day. But in terms of helping to create curls and keep them, they are a good product to try out. The shampoo and conditioner costs £5.50 each (Boots are running a 3 for 2 offer at the moment).

Have you tried these products? What do you think about them?
